Do I have to bring special shoes for treks?
Treks in Viet Nam are not that physical intensive, the same way we can imagine in France or Europe. Also, most of the guides will follow you in your peregrinations by only wearing sandals and sometimes even bare foot! Closed shoes will protect you against some bugs or bites, but are very difficult to bear in a hot weather! Rather go with comfortable shoes, well-ventilated and waterproof if possible but especially skid-proof. During humid season, the grounds are very muddy and can be pretty slippery sometimes. However, it has to be noted that shoe sizes here do not exceed 44!
Are rain capes difficult to find in Viet Nam? Should I bring a raincoat with me?
Like shoes, you will find very good quality rain capes at a cheap price in Viet Nam. Forget about your old tight raincoat that makes you sweat! Chose rather one of the colorful capes, both loose and ventilated that we all wear here!
