Even if written in Roman alphabet, the Vietnamese language is not that easy to learn! First of all it doesn’t share any roots with European languages, second you have to be able to pronounce all 3 accents and 6 tones that allow to distinguish the whole set of the monosyllabic lexicon. Hence, the Vietnamese alphabet includes 17 consonants and 12 vowels.
